Universal hero Kamal Haasan's much awaited historical fiction Marudhanayagam is going to resume the shooting soon, says reports. The project which was launched in 1997 was shelved due to financial issues. Though a minimal portion of the film was shot, Kamal is not keen to continue the project since none of the producers from South India have come forward to bankroll the film. The film which revolves around the life of Mohammad Yusuf Khan, an 18th century warrior was planned to shoot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English.
The latest update is that Lyca International, who are currently producing Rajinikanth starrer Robo 2, have decided to take over the project and approached Kamal to resume the shooting. Not so long ago, Kamal stated that he is waiting for the right producer to invest on the project and reiterated that he is ready with the script and other stuff. Ayngaran International is likely to co-produce this film.
If everything falls into place as expected, the project would hit the floors soon after Kamal wraps up Amma Nanna Aata.
