Periyar Issue - Case against Rajinikanth withdrawn in court - details

Superstar Rajinikanth's speech about the disrespect shown by the Dravida Kazhagam (DK) against Lord Rama and written by Cho Ramaswamy in his Tuglak book in 1971 has created a huge controversy covered by local and national media.  Opposers claim that the Superstar has disrespected DK leader EVR Periyaar and the Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam went to court to take action against him.

When the petition filed by the DVK came for hearing today the judge questioned why the party has chosen to file in court while its police complaint is still pending and has not completed the stipulated fifteen days time.  The council for the petitioner then withdrew the case and it was closed.
