A month after announcing that he would not be contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections nor would he be extending support to any other political outfit, Rajinikanth announced that he would not contest the 21 bypolls expected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly, earlier today.

On being asked further about his support in the bypolls to a different party, Rajini stated that he would not disclose anything as yet. Although he maintained his stance regarding endorsing another party, he said that the people should vote for a strong and stable government at the centre who can resolve the perennial water problem of the southern state.

The superstar is yet to launch his political party, however, floats an outfit called Rajini Makkal Mandram, which serves as the party's precursor.
