Superstar Rajinikanth who is busy with his upcoming films 'Kabali' and '2.0' is expected to visit the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court today based on the summons sent to him over a plagiarism case relating to his previous film 'Lingaa'.

Filmmaker K.S.Ravirathinam had alleged that the story of 'Lingaa' written by Ponkumaran has been stolen from his film 'Mullaivanam 999'. He had filed the case against the film's lead actor Rajinikanth, Ponkumaran, director K.S.Ravikumar and Producer Rockline Venkatesh. The case has been long pending and recently the Supreme Court had ordered to complete the case speedily.

Based on this the Madras High Court's Madurai bench heard the petition yesterday and has sent summons to the petitioner Ravirathinam as well as the defendants including Rajinikanth.

It is expected that Rajinikanth will make an appearance in the Court today.
