Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan from starting their superstardom together in Tamil cinema in the early 80s to sustaining till today as the most celebrated heroes have stood together for forty odd years.  Right now the duo have also began their political journeys together and seasoned politicians are rattled by their entry and see them as a threat.

Rajini and Kamal have the equal number of followers on twitter  with the former's number 4.61 million and the latter's 4.59 million.   A sizeable majority of internet users belong to the younger generation and a clear indication is that they favour both the legends equally.  Since the percentage of young voters is also very high in Tamil Nadu this could turn decisive in the futrue.

Rajini meanwhile, on the proffessional front has 'Kaala' directed by Pa Ranjith and '2.0' directed by Shankar releasing soon and will soon start shooting for his next directed by Karthik Subbaraj.  Kamal's 'Vishwaroopam 2' is also ready for release in the coming weeks and his 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar will also go on the floors soon.  The Ulaganayagan will also host 'Bigg Boss 2' which will take him into the living rooms of his target audiences.
