One of the most anticipated movies in Tamil cinema at the moment is the supposed reunion of Superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan, with the latter producing the movie in his Raajkamal films international and playing a cameo and Rajnikanth playing the lead.

Tentatively called as Thalaivar 169, this movie was to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and was supposed to begin this year. However the latest rumour making the rounds is that, this mega project might get shelved, as Rajnikanth will be busy on his political party launch and 2021 state election activities. While an official clarification on this rumour is awaited, if Rajnikanth opts out of this movie, it'll be a huge disappointment for fans of both Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who was last seen in the pongal release Darbar will be seen next in Annatthe directed by Siva and this movie was announced recently as pongal 2021 release, and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 directed by Shankar has resumed its editing work.
