Rajini vs Kamal clash after 18 years?

Tamil cinema has seen its share of rival stars locking horns at the box office but one that has transcended generations is Rajini vs Kamal.  Films of the close friends in real life and fierce on screen rivals released on the same date way back in 2005 when ‘Chandramukhi’ and ‘Mumbai Express’ released on April 14th.

The result at that time was that Rajini’s ‘Chandramukhi’ became the biggest hit of not only his career but also in Tamil cinema history.  However the experimental ‘Mumbai Express’ had a very poor run in Kamal’s career.

Now sources swear that the current generation is also going to witness the epic clash and that too this very year.  It is said that the makers of Rajini’s ‘Jailer’ and Kamal’s ‘Indian 2’ are planning to lock Diwali 2023 release date.

‘Indian 2’ is directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies with Anirudh scoring the music.  The film has Kamal, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Guru Somasundaram, Siddharth, Bobby Simha and the late Vivek among others.

‘Jailer’ on the hand is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh scoring the music as well.  The ensemble cast comprises Rajinikanth, Mohan Lal, Shivarajkumar, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi and Yogi Babu.
