Ilayathalapathy Vijay's yet to be titled 59th film directed by Atlee is progressing at a rapid speed. 70% of the shooting has been completed and the team will soon move to Goa to shoot sequences between Vijay and Amy Jackson, who plays one of the lead ladies in the film.

It was earlier expected that 'Vijay 59' would release on April 14, 2016 as a Tamil New Year treat. But now reliable sources reveal that the film's release may be pushed to May 1, which is a Government holiday and Thala Ajith's birthday.

Kalaipuli.S.Thanu, the producer of 'Vijay 59' is also producing Superstar Rajinikanths' 'Kabali' and that film is expected to release on April 14. So the maverick producer seems to have decided to release 'Vijay 59' after a two weeks gap.
