Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is produced on a grand scale by Sun Pictures. Principal photography is nearing completion and in all probability the pan Indian project will hit theaters worldwide on Diwali this year.
Meanwhile a buzz has started in Kollywood that 'Jailer' is based on true incidents that happened to Jailer G. Doss the late father of top hero Sivakarthikeyan. The speculations have apparently risen due to the fact that Sivakarthikeyan is very close to director Nelson and has also assisted him during the making of the ill-fated 'Vettai Mannan'.
G. Doss was a honest jailer who showed compassion towards convicts and did his best to reform them. Sivakarthikeyan has expressed in many interviews that he misses his dad so much and even named his son Gugan Doss and believes his father is born again after seventeen years. Reports say that Nelson has imagined what would have happened if Sivakarthikeyan had followed the footsteps of his father and became a cop. They add that Vasanth Ravi is playing the role of Rajini's son who is also a policeman in the film.
Whether 'Jailer' is based on the real life of Sivakarthikeyan's father will only be known during the promotions or if Nelson himself clears the air about it. Earlier there were speculations that Siva will be doing an important role with Rajini in the film which he later denied. But for now there is a new hype gaining momentum on this biggie.
'Jailer' has music by Anirudh and has the stellar star cast of Rajinikanth, Mohan Lal, Shivarajkumar, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan and Yogi Babu.
