Superstar Rajinikanth prior to the release of his recent super hit 'Jailer' went on a spiritual tour to Rishikesh and stayed in an ashram for a few days. On his return back he paid a visit to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and on seeing him fell at his feet and sought blessings. The gesture created a great controversy on social media with his detractors crticising the 71-year-old Rajinikanth falling at the feet of 51-year-old politician.
Rajinikanth returned to Chennai last night after completing the Himalayan tour and his visit to Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Newspersons waiting at the airport hounded him for bites especially focussing on the controversy. A cool Rajini stated that it is his long time custom to fall at the feet of yogis and sanyasins even if they are much younger than him.
The style king also said that he is thankful to the fans of Tamil Nadu for making the film 'Jailer' a hit and also conveyed his wishes to all those who were a part of the project. Rajini's next release will be 'Lal Salaam' directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth that has music by A.R. Rahman and produced by Lyca Productions. He will begin shooting for his next 'Thalaivar 170' directed by T.J. Gnanavel in the third week of September.
