Superstar Rajinikanth's new movie 'Jailer' directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures is fast progessing on sets and is expected to be a grand Summer 2023 treat for fans. The film has music by Anirudh and the highlight is that Mollywood superstar Mohan Lal and Sandalwood superstar Shivarajkumar are also playing important characters.

Rajini will soon join the sets of daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's 'Laal Salaam' in which he is not the lead character but plays a powerful role. The new has leaked now in Kollywood that Rajini will be playing a Muslim man in the film. If this turns out to be true the Thalaivar will be playing such a character after almost 28 years since 'Baasha'.

In 'Baasha', Rajini actually played a Hindu man Manickam who adopts the Muslim name in memory of his close friend who dies for him. So if he does play an out and out Muslin character in 'Laal Salaam' it could be the first time for him.

'Laal Salaam' is produced by Lyca Productions with A.R. Rahman scoring the music. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play the lead roles. Aishwarya Rajinikanth has reportedly planned to make a commercial film with a strong message involving sports.
