Superstar Rajinikanth turns a year older yesterday, and social media was filled with immense love and respect for him. Several actors from across the county wished the legendary actor on his special day. The pictures from his birthday celebration are currently going viral on social media platforms.

On Twitter, Dhanush wished his father-in-law with these words: "Happy birthday my Thalaiva." He added a couple of heart emojis and wrote: "The one and only Superstar Rajinikanth Sir... Love you so much."

Rajinikanth had enjoyed the day with special birthday cakes and had a lovely time with his family members. Rajinikanth's wife Latha Rajinikanth, daughter Soundarya, son-in-law Visakan, grandsons Yatra Dhanush, Ved Krishna, Anirudh's father Ravichander were part of the birthday celebration.

At the 67th National Film Awards, Rajinikanth received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award - India's highest film honour - for his stupendous contribution to Indian cinema. On the work front, Rajinikanth recently delivered the family drama 'Annaatthe', which is directed by Siruthai Siva, for Diwali, and the film grossed good numbers at the box office. Superstar Rajinikanth hasn't announced his next yet, and fans are eager to see whom he teams up with as several big names are on the wish list.
