Superstar Rajinikanth today said that his 2002 film 'Baba' will always be close to his heart. The film's remastered version is reportedly heading for a re-release on December 12, marking the actor's birthday.
The '2.0' actor recently completed dubbing for the film's additional scenes as well as ones that required him to re-dub. Photos of the film's crew including director Suresh Krishna with Rajini have gone viral on the internet. It is said that AR Rahman will also be doing some additional background work for the new version.
Also starring Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, Goundamani, Sujatha, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vijayakumar and Vinu Chakravarthy, the film is high on spirituality.
When 'Baba' was released in theatres in 2002, it rode the burden of super-high expectations. Its craze in the Telugu States was extraordinary even though Rajini is a Tamil actor. It was Rajini's comeback film. At that time, the actor said that 'Baba' would be his last film. But that didn't happen and he is doing films even twenty years later.
