Director Shankar's ambitious magnum opus '2.0' with Superstar Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in lead roles is making steady progress. The film went on floors a couple of weeks ago and now the first schedule of shooting is done.

The lead actors who are playing robots in the film took part in the entire first schedule that took place in a robotics lab like set erected in the outskirts of Chennai,. Robots imported from foreign countries were used for canning some scenes.

There is no confirmation on when the second schedule will begin. Amy Jackson will return to the sets of '2.0' for the second schedule while Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar who plays the lead villain role in the flick is also expected to join the unit in the second schedule of shoot.

Rajinikanth will take a break from '2.0' as of now and he will be reporting in the sets of 'Kabali' directed by Pa.Ranjith in January 2016. It is as of now unclear as to when he will join the '2.0' unit again.

'2.0' the sequel of 2010 blockbuster sci-fi thriller 'Enthiran' is being produced by Lyca Productions on a whopping budget of Rs.350 crores. A.R.Rahman will be scoring the music while Nirav Shah is handling the cinematography. Ace writer Jeyamohan has penned the dialogues.

The film is scheduled to hit the screens in 2017.
