Superstar Rajinikanth returned to Chennai a few weeks ago after staying in USA for a brief period. He is yet to resume shooting for his upcoming mega budget scifi entertainer '2.0'. He is expected to join the unit later this month.

But director Shankar has been continuously shooting the scenes that do not require the presence of the Superstar for the past several weeks in Chennai.

Sources reveal that yesterday (August 8) Shankar canned a scene at an office related to the Railway department at Ayanavaram, Chennai. The office was converted as a Police Commissioner office for the shooting and a scene of a group of people handing over a complaint letter was shot.

The scene was canned with junior artists without the presence of Rajinikanth, lead antagonist Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson who plays the female lead.

'2.0' the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster 'Enthiran' is being produced by Lyca Productions on a huge budget of Rs.350 crores. The film will have the musical score of A.R.Rahman.
