Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the SwachataHiSeva promoting cleanliness among the population in view of this coming Gandhi Jayanthi. The PM has requested film personalities to use their status, the most powerful medium to, get Gandhiji's ideology of cleanliness to the masses.

Supporting the call, Superstar Rajinikanth has stated on social media earlier on Friday: "I extend my full support to our hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi ji`s #SwachhataHiSeva mission. Cleanliness is godliness.".

In an unrelated development, political commentators are speculating that Rajini could well not support his colleague, Kamal Haasan, who has said that he wants to rule Tamil Nadu. The superstar's sympathies could be somewhere else. Will it be saffron, is the question.

In Telugu, Mahesh Babu, Rajamouli, Prabhas and Mohan Babu have received a similar call from the PM. They are going to respond to the call in the coming days.
