High tension lead to abrupt violence in the protests that were conducted near Chepauk Stadium yesterday. People gathered to protest the IPL game between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders as it was seen densensitising youngsters and the general populace against Cauvery and Sterlite issues.
In some footages that surfaced online, one could see protesters violently thrashing not only fans, but also police personnel themselves. Superstar Rajinikanth took to his social page to register his condemnation about it. Calling it ‘the worst form of violence’, he stated that stringent laws must be devised to punish such perpetrators.
Here’s his tweet below:
The worst form of violence in law and order situation is attack on uniformed personnel on duty. This form of violence has to be tackled immediately as it poses grave danger to our country. We need more stringent laws to punish the perpetrators of attack on police personnel on duty.
