Rajinikanth's '2.0' won't be hitting the screens during Diwali. Raju Mahalingam of Lyca Productions himself has revealed the new release date.
Our most ambitious project, Shankar's 2.0 shifts to 25 Jan 2018," he has said, adding that the decision was taken in view of the time needed to achieve "world class standards in VFX".
This is quite understandable as VFX-heavy movies end up taking more than longer. Unforeseen delays, etc are commonplace.
Made at a mammoth cost of Rs. 450 Cr, the Shankar-directed movie would have got more market space because of the festive season. Since the film sees Akshay Kumar as the main antagonist, Bollywood audience too would have watched in larger numbers during Diwali.
