Controversial BJP leader H. Raja's tweet about his intention to demolish the statues of immortal Tamil leader EVR Periyaar has recieved condemnation from all quarters forcing him to retreat blaming the action on an elusive "Admin".  From Kollywood side many celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Sathyaraj, Prakash Raj, G.V. Prakash and Nikhila Vimal have shown their dissent on social media and to the press.

Superstar Rajinikanth though a couple of days late has today met press persons and stated that it is barbaric to speak about the demolition of Periyaar statue and those who have indulged in it and that he strongly condemned it.

The Nadigar Sangam President and Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council head Vishal has also jumped on to the bandwagon "Condemning H. Raja is an understatement for his uncalled statement on demolition of Thanthai Periyaar statue. U seem to be alienating yourself every other time u comment on any topic.not right and not done.
