Can anyone forget that fabulous scene where the Superstar reveals his past life to a medical college chairman in a close door one on one meeting with a meaningful smile in the film Baasha`? Can anyone deny that the purposeful underscores of what is going to be revealed in the high energy second half made the first half so thrillful? And what if we say these are resulted out of the insistence of the film`s producer R.M.Veerappan?

It was none other than Superstar Rajinikanth who revealed this in the 90th birthday celebration of the veteran producer and politician held yesterday. Rajini said that the idea was not to indicate anything about the past life of the lead character in the initial portions of the film, which means that the first half was all about Manickam, the peace loving auto driver in Chennai without a mention about Manick Baasha the dreadful underworld leader of Mumbai. RMV however, had insisted that there should be indications of the lead character`s real identity in the first half of the film itself so that it would pump in the excitement of the audience to a great extent. That`s what really happened and the rest is history.

The Superstar credited the historic success of the film to the foresight of R.M.Veerappan.
