There was massive expectations from millions of fans that Superstar Rajinikanth would float his own political party and contest the Tamil Nadu General Elections 2021. They were confident that the legendary actor would ascend power and bring about a spiritual rule in the state.
In December end last year unfortunately Rajini fell ill while shooting for his movie 'Annaathe' directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sun Pictures and was admitted to the Apollo hospital in Hyderabad for fluctuating blood pressure. The doctors then gave strong advice that considering his earlier kidney transplantation and the coronavirus situation Rajini should take utmost care of his health and avoid all strenuous activities.
Rajini then made the announcement that he will not be into active politics but serve the people in every way he can. In the past two days several Rajini Makkal Mandram functionaries have joined the DMK and other parties.
RMM leader Sudhakar has sent out a circular that states that the fan club members who are interested in joining other political parties can do so by rendering their resignations prior to that. He also urged them that even if they leave they should not forget that they are Rajini fans.
