On our Tuesday Trivia we take a look at some of the most iconic super hit movies that were rejected by the first choice heroes but turned out to be great choices for the those who accepted the roles.

'Sivantha Mann' - Sivaji Accepted - MGR Rejected 

When Sreedhar approached MGR with the out and out action adventure script the mass hero turned it down and suggested to cast his rival Sivaji as it had many emotional sequences. The film went on to become one the Nadigar Thilagam's biggest hits.

'Enthiran' - Kamal movie 'Robot' dropped - Rajini accepted 'Enthiran' years later 

Director Shankar after giving the super hit 'Indian' announced 'Robot' with Kamal as the hero and even the photo shoot was done but unfortunately the project did not take off in the nineties due to various issues.  Several years later Superstar Rajini took on the dual roles and 'Enthiran' created history at the box office.

'Mudhalvan' - Rajini and Vijay rejected - Arjun accepted 

Shankar's first choice for 'Mudhalvan' the one day Chief Minister character was Superstar Rajinikanth who was reluctant to do the role due to the volatile political situation of the time.  Vijay the second choice too was apprehensive about handling such a mature subject at an early stage in his career.  Arjun accepted and it is his career best till date.

'Ghajini' - Ajith 's 'Mirattal' dropped - Suriya acted in the same story later

A.R. Murugadoss gave the blockbuster 'Dheena' for Ajith and the duo wanted to reunite for a new movie which was 'Mirattal' that was dropped after a photo shoot due to some unforseen circumstances.  The same story was made as 'Ghajini' after a few years which is one of Suriya's most memorable films.

'Ko' - Simbu walked out last minute and Jiiva replaced him

Simbu signed on to this K.V. Anand blockbuster but walked out due to creative differences the day the shoot was to begin in China.  Jiiva was roped in and immediately flew to China for his biggest hit.

'Naan Kadavul' - Ajith opted out and Arya replaced him

Director Bala was bent on making a film with Ajith and when 'Nanda' did not workout he managed to rope him in for 'Naan Kadavul' and also finished photo shoot.  But due to some unpleasant sitatuations, Ajith had to opt out and Arya replaced him to huge critical acclaim. 

'Dheena' -  Vijay rejected - Ajith accepted 

A.R. Murugadoss's first choice for his debut movie was Vijay who rejected the script and later Ajith took on the role and came to be known as "Thala" after being addressed in the movie by Thulukanam. 

'New' - Ajith Rejected - S.J. Suirya became hero 

S.J. Suriya's career as director was made with Ajith's super hit 'Vaali' and he was very keen to cast him in the SciFi fantasy 'New'.  However in the last minute Ajith opted out and S.J. Suriya took on the role of the hero and became an instant success.

'Sandakozhi' - Vijay rejected - Vishal accepted 

Director Linguswamy's first choice for the hero in his sleeper hit movie was Vijay who rejected the offer and one film old Vishal came on board to give one of his most memorable performances. 

'Thani Oruvan' - Madhavan rejected - Arvind Swamy accepted

Director Mohan Raja had Madhavan in mind when he wrote the twrror inducing villain  Siddharth Abhimanyu in 'Thani Oruvan'.  Maddy refused the offer and Arvind Swamy made the character his own and won many awards apart from regaining his stardom.
