The year 2010, marked the 50th year of Kamal Haasan in the cinefield and a grand ceremony was conducted in which the Superstars of South Indian cinema, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Sarathkumar and Venkatesh were the chief guests.

Rajini speaking on the occasion said that Kamal Haasan is the special child of the Mother of Art (Kalai thaai in Tamil) and hence she has him in her arms while others including himself though her children don`t have that honor since they all aspired to be actors only one life but Kamal has aspired it in many lives. Kamal and Rajini then exchanged tearful kisses which moved everyone present.

Rajini has got a popular painter to draw his thoughts on Kamal Haasan and recently presented it to him, which Kamal has put up in his office alongside the photos of Sivaji Ganesan and Nagesh. It will be interesting to know what Kamal is going to gift Rajini on his 40th year that completes tomorrow the 18th of August.
