National Award-winning director Rajesh Touchriver's social drama 'Raktham' has been adjudged the winner at the international film festival Indie Gathering-2017. It has won the award in the Foreign Drama Feature segment.

Starring Sanju Sivram and Madhu Shalini in lead roles, the film tells the troubled stories of a group of naxals. It's a film about the ethical conflicts within the ideology of revolution. Inspired by Albert Camus' 'Les Justes', the film was shot in Hyderabad and Karimnagar.

The director has earlier made 'Na Bangaru Thalli'.

Presented by social activist and Padma Shri-winner Sunitha Krishnan, the subject touches upon the moral issues involved in choosing a violent path. If Madhu too will be seen in a deglam role, popular character artiste Banjerjee has a key role. Sana, Bindu and John Kottoly are in other roles.
