Rajeev Ravi's 'Kammati Paadam' has raised huge debates about the kind of silent discrimination that the Dalits face. The movie had received an A certificate by the censor board. Rajeev Ravi had commented that the censor board's definition and perceptions are unacceptable to him.

Rajeev Ravi notes that the censor board finds the term 'polayadi' derogatory and had requested him to remove it from his movie. HE wonders from when on did a Playan's generation became a bad word. He adds that for the Dalits who acted in the movie, the word is hardly a bad one.
