Rajath, the actor of 'Srivalli', has his sights on the right things. He wants to carve a niche for himself. "I want to do it by latching on to all the right opportunities that come my way," he declares.

How did films happen to him? "I hail from Madanapalle in Chittoor district. Even as a college-goer, I was fascinated by cinema. After completing my Engineering with the encouragement of my family, I went on to pursue my dreams in films. I got trained under Sathyanand garu in Vizag. I contacted Vijayendra Prasad garu after I came to know that he was doing 'Srivalli'. Since he liked my profile, I came on board. My self-confidence got a boost because workshops were conducted before the film was taken to the floors," Rajath says.

Didn't he find it quite a leap of faith to debut in a scientific-thriller? "Yes, it did come across as a challenge. But I saw it as a rare opportunity," he says.

Rajath is a director's hero. "I completely followed Prasad garu's instructions. I have given my 100 per cent," the youngster informs.

What was the most challenging part of doing the role of Gautham? "Since this is a CG-driven movie, most of the scenes were shot in the backdrop of a green mat. And the actors had to imagine things that were not around them. It was not an easy task at all," he says.

Rajath is quite elated that the audiences are "enjoying the last 20 minutes of the movie".

Talking about his acting inspiration, the youngster veers the conversation towards Megastar Chiranjeevi. "Like many aspiring actors, I too took Chiranjeevi garu as an inspiration. With dedication and determination, I want to reach my target," Rajath says.

He is clear about choosing roles that fit into the prevalent trends. "My first film has instilled so much confidence in me," he signs off.
