Bollywood has its fair share of indie movies but there are only some which can match the beauty and emotional essence of 'Udaan'. Released in the year 2010, film completed 11 years of its theatrical release on Friday. It was a coming of age story revolving around a teenage guy who get expelled from boarding school and subsequently has to reunite with his estranged father and his half brother.
The story unfolds as his thoughts about future collide with his father's and the protagonist goes through a life changing journey. On the 11 year anniversary of the release, lead actor Rajat Barmecha looked back upon the time he worked on the film and learned a lot.
Sharing a bunch of behind the scene photos on Instagram, Rajat wrote, "11 years ago came a film that changed many lives. From the people who worked on it to the people who saw it, everyone felt connected. It's a film that has personally given me a lot. Memories, learnings, experiences, friendships and life long bonds. Vikram and I experienced some extraordinary moments together which can't be put in words. From our first interview together to Walking the Red carpet at Cannes Film Festival, none of the moments can be recreated because your first time never comes back."
Rajat further added, "There is a lot of beauty in this journey we've had and all I have and all I feel is a lot of Gratitude and love for these amazing people I met because of this beautiful piece of work. You all have my heart and I can't thank each one of you enough to have given me this experience of a lifetime called #Udaan . Happy 11 years."
