A horrifying video that has surfaced online shows two Dalit men being mercilessly thrashed and tortured after they were allegedly suspected of stealing money from a two-wheeler agency in the Nagpur district of Rajasthan.

The video shows one of the Dalit men being stripped naked by one of the staff members of the agency while another man dips a screwdriver in petrol and inserts it into the Dalit man's anus mercilessly even as the latter screams and cries in pain. After the video went viral on social media, police officials began investigating the matter.The victim mentioned in his complaint to the police that he went to the Karanu village on February 16 to get his bike serviced and took his cousin along. This was when the agency members had suspected them of stealing money and began harassing them.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the brutal violence in a statement on his Twitter page that read, "The recent video of two young Dalit men being brutally tortured in Nagaur, Rajasthan is horrific and sickening. I urge the state Government to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators of this shocking crime to justice."

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has ensured that severe action will be taken against the accused and that the victims will get justice. "In the horrific incident in Nagaur, immediate and effective action has been taken and seven accused have been arrested so far. Nobody will be spared. The culprits will be punished according to the law and we will ensure that the victims get justice," his tweet read.

The seven accused men, identified as Bhim Singh, Aidan Singh, Asu Singh, Sawai Singh, Laxman Singh, Hanuman Singh and Ganpatram have been arrested and an FIR has reportedly been registered under sections 342 (for wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 143 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code and various sections of the SC/ST Act.
