Rajanna to hit on Dec. 22

Rajanna's release date is now official. It is going to hit the marquee on the 22nd. One of the biggest films in the career of Nagarjuna, the film is a period revolutionary drama. It stars Annie (10) in a key role called Mallamma. Also starring Sneha, the film is about how the character of Rajanna orchestrates an armed rebellion to rout the Razakars from the region.
The worldwide release is happening amid very high expectations. Directed by Vijayendra Prasad, who had dreamed of directing the film for long, the film is music-directed by MM Keeravani. The story begins in a village in Adilabad district, spreads its wings to hundreds of other villagers and even reaches Delhi at one stage.
Produced on a lavish scale by Nagarjuna himself on the banner of Annapurna Studios, the film is embellished with rich computer graphics. In fact, just to perk up the quality, the makers had put the release on hold. (It was originally planned to be released on Sept. 30). Since the distributors felt that November was not a good season to release a movie, Nag decided to postpone it till the Christmas season.
A special premier show will be held in the United States on Dec. 21.
