Rajanna has a first to its credit. Realizing the fiscal significance of garnering the maximum overseas attention, Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios International Inc, which is distributing the film in the overseas market, has come up with a saleable idea. It is that Rajanna will have subtitles in English in the overseas market.

The film is going to be prominently released with English subtitles in the US and other markets as well. The idea is probably to make it easy for children of the NRI audience who are schooled in English medium to understand the dialogues and songs. Since the film has the character of Mallamma, a child, the child audience can better appreciate the script by reading the dialogues in English.

In the recent months, the overseas market has grown in tremendous importance especially after the super success of Dookudu, which collected record amounts in the US. It looks like Nag’s team, which is coining many innovative business ideas, has come up with the right idea. This should hopefully become a trend-setter and other films may well follow the suit.

Everything depends on any palpable difference that this will make to the collections of Rajanna.
