Rajamouli's VFX philosophy is a marvel

SS Rajamouli was recently interviewed at an event organized by the SBIFF Cinema Society. Speaking in a talk bulletin, the 'RRR' maker spoke of how he views VFX.
"Visual effects, as we know, is a tool like a camera or BGM to convey our emotion to the audience. Nothing more, nothing less. The images in my mind themselves are larger-than-life. I need VFX to convey those images. Essentially, once I have this understanding that VFX is not a character, it will blend well with the story, conveying the story.
After listening to Rajamouli, the interviewer opined that he must teach American filmmakers, especially the Marvel makers, a few things about how VFX has to be treated.
In the interview, the 'Eega' maker also said that the Indian story-telling tradition believes in giving something or the other to every member of a family. "If I have to break the rules, I must first understand the rules. Breaking a rule for the sake of it doesn't make sense. I don't mind breaking the rules if it is really needed," he added.
