You may have watched 'Magadheera' and 'Baahubali' scores of times, but there is a legendary film that SS Rajamouli saw about 100 times. It's the Hollywood epic war film 'Braveheart'. The 1995 film starred Mel Gibson, who also directed it.
In a recent panel discussion, the 'Jakkanna' spoke highly of the Oscar-winning film and how it shaped his imagination. This is not the first time that the Numero Uno maker mentioned the impact that 'Braveheart' (and also 'Ben-Hur') have had on him. In an interview before the release of 'Baahubali-The Conclusion', he said that "detailing the emotions through action" is a fascinating idea for him. He mentioned the aforementioned Hollywood classics in this context.
His next will be a multi-starrer featuring NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles.
