Rajamouli makes it a point to watch big-ticket movies on day one. He praised Gabbar Singh and Julayi, which was released a day before the release of his co-production Andala Rakshasi.

It is now Kamal Haasan's film that is his favourite. Before the release of the film, he had interviewed the Universal Actor.

"Usually all commercial films have black and white characters and complex characters are for parallel films. Viswaroopam is the first Pakka Commercial film that I know which has complex characters which was refreshing to watch Kamal's performance as the dance master is extraordinary. Makeup and spl efx are top notch. i would have preferred a little less gore, but that is personal taste. And Tami Nnadu govt banning the film is quite shocking", he said.

He further said, "Govt advocate stating that there will be wide spread violence is the joke of the year. There's nothing in the film that hurts the sentiments of the Muslims. Hope the good sense prevails. And wish the producers somehow recover the money that has been lost."
