Director SS Rajamouli made waves on Tuesday with the announcement of his latest venture, "Baahubali: Crown of Blood," a new animated series set in the Baahubali universe. Known for his directorial prowess in the two-part epic Baahubali films, Rajamouli teased fans with a video unveiling the title and confirming an upcoming trailer release.

The video, shared on X, features the title emerging dramatically from smoke, accompanied by chants of "Baahubali." Rajamouli's caption reads, “When the people of Mahishmati chant his name, no force in the universe can stop him from returning. Baahubali: Crown of Blood, an animated series trailer, arrives soon!” Further details about the cast and storyline are yet to be revealed.

This isn't the first time the Baahubali saga has been adapted into animation. In 2017, Rajamouli introduced "Baahubali: The Lost Legends," a four-season animated series released on Amazon Prime Video.

The Baahubali franchise has been a monumental success, breaking records not only in India but also internationally, including in Japan, China, and major European countries. "Baahubali 2," directed by Rajamouli, grossed a staggering Rs. 1810 crores, making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film of all time. The film also holds the top spot for domestic box office performance, revolutionizing Indian cinema upon its 2017 release.

The films boast an impressive ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.

Rajamouli's most recent directorial venture, "RRR," starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, not only dazzled audiences in India but also garnered global acclaim. The film's song "Naatu Naatu" even won an Oscar Award for Best Song in 2023. On the professional front Rajamouli is all set to direct Super Star Mahesh Babu in his next referred to SSMB29. Expectations are high on the project as Rajamouli promised a globe trotting experience to movie lovers across the world.
