SS Rajamauli is one of the most celebrated filmmakers of India and he's known to be very passionate about every projects he takes up. This tendency to give attention to every minute detail and controlling every aspect of the films results in a really slow production pace. His upcoming project 'RRR' is in production for quite a while now. According to latest reports, there's a tussle between director Rajamauli and producer Jayantilal Gada regarding the release of the film.
'RRR' is slated to release theatrically in October but as major areas like Maharashtra are not operating theatres currently, this could be a bad move for business aspect. Producers are getting lucrative offers for the OTT release of the film which seems reasonable to Jayantilal Gada. However, being a true cinephile, Rajamauli is adamant on releasing the film theatrically as it is meant to be.
Ideally, it would be the best bet for makers to hold on to the release till situation gets better and major markets are opened for business. Even Akshay Kumar's film 'Bell Bottom' failed to earn a significant amount in these times so it absolutely would not be wise to release a movie as grand as 'RRR' theatrically.
