BJP's lone MLA in Telangana, Raja Singh, has accused the KCR government of promoting the TRS by plastering the pictures and images related to the ruling party on the walls of the Yadadri temple.
"The temple is not a property of the TRS party. It's the responsibility of the government to develop the temple. How can you print your face and the symbol of your party on the pillars of the temple? It's a matter of shame that this is happening there. If you don't remove the figures, the people will do it," Raja Singh has said.
"The temple has a special place in the history and culture of Telangana. But the figures of former Prime Ministers and of KCR garu there is making it turn into a museum. What message does this convey? The government's idea is to educate the children. But hardly do religious places feature such figures, party symbols, etc. If you want to build a museum, why can't you do it somewhere near the temple, on the hilltops, etc?" he asked.
"As far as I know, temples such as Ahobilam don't feature such figures as has been said by many. I would urge the government to get them removed with the help of sculptors. I have not given a Chalo Yadadri call to my followers. I am going there with workers just to ascertain the truth," he told a TV channel.
