Raja should ‘shut up’ lest he’d be forced out of the State: EVKS Elangovan

Former Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president EVKS Elangovan has asked senior BJP leader H. Raja to ‘shut up’ and not talk lowly about Tamil politicians. “If he doesn’t do so, he might have to shift his base away from the State,” he added.

EVKS, known for his frequent press-meets and comments on all issues during his tenure as State Congress president, was inaugurating a Kamarajar Statue at the Bharat Mata Street junction in Tambaram (East) off Chennai. Elangovan garlanded the newly inaugurated statue and later spoke to waiting newsmen.

“Students and political parties are staging protests across the State against the bus fare hike; the Govt. has responded by reducing the fares only marginally which is highly condemnable. At many places, students involved in protests had been beaten up by the police which is condemnable and objectionable. All the students ought to be released at once,” he said.

On another note, he regretted that the political culture in the State has been getting below-par with each passing day. “BJP’s H. Raja has been criticizing Tamil politicians using foul language which is unacceptable. If Raja doesn’t learn to ‘shut up’ and be polite in future, he might have to shift his base outside the State,” EVKS concluded.
