Businessman Raj Kundra, who is facing charges with respect to a pornography case, has transferred a total of five luxury apartments worth Rs 38.5 crore in Mumbai’s Juhu locality to his wife and Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty-Kundra.

Sources said that the total area transferred by Raj Kundra to Shilpa Shetty measures around 5,996 square feet. It also is the house which both the husband and wife have shown as their current address. Shetty, on the other hand, paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.9 crore on the transfer deed. The documents were reportedly registered on January 21, 2022.

For the unversed, Raj Kundra was arrested on charges related to the alleged creation of pornographic films last year in July. He was released on bail in September. Last year, when the Supreme Court granted him protection from arrest in connection with another case of pornographic videos, he had issued a public statement.

"After much contemplation, considering there are many misleading and irresponsible statements and articles floating around and my silence has been misconstrued for weakness. I would like to start by stating that I have NEVER been involved in the production and distribution of "pornography" EVER in my life. This whole episode has been nothing but a witch hunt. The matter is subjudice so I can not elucidate, but I am ready to face trial and have full faith in the judiciary" Raj said in the statement.
