Rain lash Bengaluru, 10 years best rain fall

The Bengaluru City and rural Bengaluru is having good rain fall in the last two days. The Monday night rain fall of 13 centimeter changed the calculations of the Independence Day celebration in many places. At HAL airport surroundings 14 cm of rain was recorded, it was in 2009 August 17 75.8 mm rainfall was recorded.

At Bilekahalli surroundings it was 180mm and it might break the record of 1890 August rainfall of 162.1 mm. the rain lashing throughout night on Monday night has left 45 places flood with water.

The residential areas located in basements had it very tough. The places like Koramngala, ST Bed, Koramangala 4th block, HSR layout, Madivala, Ijipura, Viveknagara, Shanthinagar double road, Dollars colony, Uttarahalli, Halasuri areas localities where the houses are below received disturbances. Some of the roads looked like rivers. 4 feet rain at some places disturbed the regular activities.

The patriotic event arranged for the Independence Day at some of the playgrounds had to be cancelled. 170 BMTC buses cancelled their trips.

The rainfall is good in the last two days in Dakshin Kannada, Malnad regions. In the northern Karnataka also the rainfall is expected.
