Thala Ajith's 'Vedalam' and Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongaavanam' - the two films released for the Deepavali festival were tipped make phenomenal box office collections as the festival fell on a Tuesday, with three days gap for the weekend. Though the advance bookings for the first two days were fantastic for both the films. But the collections in the rest of the days of the week may be severely affected if the cyclone that had set in before Deepavali does not cross the coast.

Already the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu are hugely affected by cyclone and rains. As many as 120 theaters fall in these areas which suffer a frequent power outage and waterlogged roads due to incessant rains. if this trend continued watching movies would be the last thing on the mind of people and this will definitely have a say in the collections of the films in these areas. This will in turn affect the fortunes of the distributors and theater owners of these areas who have brought the biggie films by paying huge prices.

We hope that the rain gods show mercy on these two films and all the stakeholders of athese two films.
