Raihan Rajiv Vadra, the son of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra, is a first-time voter. He today cast his vote in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, Raihan said that it felt nice to take part in the democratic process. "Everyone should exercise their right to vote; I think everyone should have access to public transport and it should be subsidized for students," he said, iterating the priorities of the Congress party without taking its name.
The ongoing elections in Delhi are likely to give the Congress party not more than three seats in the 70-seat Assembly. As things stand, the AAP has an edge over the BJP and may form the government. The voter turn-out, as of 3pm, was highly discouraging. A report said that the turn-out was not more than 31 percent, prompting several commentators to say that Delhi may be the new Mumbai in terms of voter apathy.
