Rahuls thief-thief politics wont work: Finance Minister

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reacted to Rahul Gandhi's tweet that RBI's transfer of excess reserves to the Government of India is nothing but the loot of the Central bank. Sitharaman alluded to the failure of the Congress party to convince the people of India that the Rafale deal was a scam before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

"Whenever Rahul Gandhi raises things like 'chor, chori' one thing comes to my mind, he tried his best 'chor, chor, chori' but the public gave him befitting reply. What's the point of using the same words again? The Bimal Jalan committee, appointed by RBI, had experts, who gave a formula based on which the amount was arrived at. Any suggestions about the credibility of RBI, therefore, for me seems a bit outlandish," the FM added.

Meanwhile, the Congress party continues to project the transfer of Rs 1,76,000 Cr to the Government as a scam.
