These are Rahul Gandhi's words after news reports said today that unemployment rates reached a 45-year high in 2017-18 due to Demonetisation. Fuhrer in the tweet refers to Narendra Modi.

As per NSSO sample survey data, which is yet to be released, unemployment was rampant in rural India in the quarters after the infamous note ban.

Countering the Congress chief's criticism, the BJP has quoted the EPFO data to buttress its claim that formal employment creation has only shot up in the last one year or so.

"It's clear that he has inherited Mussolini's shortsightedness and has a myopic understanding of issues. EPFO's real data shows a sharp increase in jobs, created in just the last 15 months. Only a man who hasn't ever held a proper job & is totally jobless can peddle such," the saffron party tweeted out, mocking Rahul.
