Actor Rahul Ravindran has come out in support of the Supreme Court's directive making the playing of the National Anthem mandatory in all cinemas. Saying that it would be a "nice, warm feeling", Rahul has expressed views that border on a sociological viewpoint.
'It's just a common platform where ppl of all gender, religion, caste & creed can celebrate our national identity for a few minutes," the 'Andala Rakshasi' and 'Ala Ela' actor has said.
"So many mixed reactions.. I've lived in Bombay.. am used to it. And mind you.. am no jingoist. But it's a nice warm feeling watching our.... Our flag fluttering on a giant screen. And hey they're playing the anthem. Not forcing you to listen to some Justin Bieber song," he has said.
Not that he doesn't respect those who don't want to sing the Anthem. "Ppl who have issues or separatist ideals can simply stay outside the audi till it's done.. I respect that."
