Rahul Gandhi on Sunday announced that he will not be holding public rallies in West Bengal, where Assembly elections are being held this month, anymore. The former Congress President took the decision in view of the second wave of the pandemic.
"In view of the Covid situation, I am suspending all my public rallies in West Bengal. I would advise all political leaders to think deeply about the consequences of holding large public rallies under the current circumstances (sic)," the Wayanad MP wrote.
The Congress leader has been trolled by Netizens for hypocrisy. Only four days ago, RaGa held a large rally in Bengal. The rally was attended by at least one lakh people.
This election season, political rallies have been held by all political parties in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam, too. Yet, RaGa didn't suspend Congress rallies then. He has cancelled rallies only after the fifth phase of the Bengal elections.
Meanwhile, the Congress party is asking Narendra Modi to follow suit by taking RaGa as an example.
