Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday tore into the Modi government over a number of issues, including the border tensions with China. In Punjab's Patiala, the former Congress President accused the Prime Minister of ignoring the threats posed by China.
Referring to the ingressions by China's army, Rahul said, as quoted by ANI, "Do you know why China was able to take away a part of our land? It is because China knows that the person (referring to Modi) who is sitting at the top position, just cares about his image."
He found fault with the Modi government buying two aircraft worth Rs 8,000 Cr for the PM's security. "This at a time when China is at our borders and our security forces are braving harsh cold to protect our borders," RaGa said.
In an attempt to project the NDA government as an authoritarian regime, he said, "The last time India's freedom was curtailed was under the draconian rule of an imperialist Nation. And we intend it to remain the last. India will resist Modi government's attack on our freedom, our future and will emerge victorious."
