On the first day of the Bathukamma festivities, a private song composed by AR Rahman was today unveiled. Brought out under the aegis of Kalvakuntla Kavitha's Telangana Jagruthi, it has been directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Sung by Uthara Unnikrishnan, the cultural song's lyrics are by Mittapalli Surender.
With dance choreography by Brinda, the song is titled 'Allipoola Vennela'. With cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, its costumes and styling are by Uthara Menon. Avinash Kolla and Anthony have taken care of production design and editing. Produced by Preethi Srivijayan, the song is aesthetic and ethereal.
"A festival of life. A celebration of togetherness. Bringing you a glimpse of the beauty of Bathukamma through "#AllipoolaVennela" along with Telangana Jagruthi (sic)," Rahman wrote, plugging the song.
Usually, cultural songs seeking to reflect the rooted nativity are done by local composers. For a change, the makers have roped in Rahman, who is a non-Telugu.
