Ragini, Supritha, Aindrita Ray best of 2009

The local heroines in 2009 took the major share in getting good roles and made a cake walk too. Ragini in ‘Yee Shathamanadha Veera Madhakari’ opposite Sudeep, ‘Supritha’ of ‘Ambari’ opposite Yogish, Nidhi Subbaiah from ‘Chamkaisi Chindi Udaisi’ and Aindrita Ray for her sterling performance in three films – Junglee opposite Vijay, Manasaare with Diganth and ‘Vaayuputra’ with newcomer Chiranjeevi Sarja earned rich dividends in this year. Aindrita Ray was also in the controversy on the sets of ‘Nooru Janmaku’. Director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar slapping her acquired lot of mileage.

Among the flood of 35 heroines in this year 21 are from outside. Sheela in ‘Prem Kahani’ and Nisha Kothari in ‘Raj The Showman’ received lot of attention. The list is as follows.

The flood from outside to Kannada films in this year are - Archana Gupta from ‘Circus’, Thanushka from ‘Kempa’, Sandhya from ‘Nanda’, Gracy Singh from ‘Meghave Meghave’, Deepa Chari from ‘KA 09 M333’, Sara from ‘Gauthama’, Kamilini Mukerji from ‘Savaari’, Manju Bhargavi as mother in Hat trick ‘Hodi Maga’, Madhu Sharma from ‘Yuva’, Gauri Karnik from ‘Karanji’, Udaya Tara from ‘Preethse Preethse’, Girija Oak and Vishaka Singh from ‘Houseful’, Arthi Thakore from ‘Abhay’, Manasi from ‘Ballari Naga’, Rakul Preeth Singh from ‘Gilli’, Monica from ‘Devaru Kotta Thangi’, Yuvika Chaudhary and Anjana Sukhani from ‘Maleyali Jotheyali’.

The new entrants from Kannada Nadu as heroines for the first time are – Supritha from ‘Ambari’, Ragini from ‘Yee Shathamanadha Veera Madhakari’, Ruthwa from a small role in ‘Jollydays’ to heroine spot in Jeeva, Navyasri from ‘Idya Madyara’, Sithara Vaidya from ‘Birugali’, Meghana Mudiyan from ‘Venkata in Sankata’, Priyanka from ‘Kabbaddi’, Nidhi Subbaiah from ‘Chamkaisi Chindi Udaisi’, Sanchitha Padukone from ‘Ravana’, Raveena from ‘Mad Love’, Rupika from ‘Cheluvina Chilipili’, Shalini from ‘Mussanjeya Gelathi’, Lakshmi Hegde as heroine from ‘Kurunadu’ and Nakshatra from ‘Gokula’ got noticed.
