Raghu Kunche strikes back with Trisha

In the last few days, two actresses have debuted as singers: Trisha and Nithya Menen, in that order. Curiously enough, the two have crooned songs belonging to two contrasting genres. While Trisha debuted with a song whose theme is 'bayam' in Nayaki, Nithya in AR Rahman'S 24 rendered a song whose theme is motherly paeans to her kid.

The credit for introducing Trisha as a singer goes to music director Raghu Kunche. Speaking to a media house, Kunche says that the idea was to let Trisha sing because she had earlier expressed a wish to croon. He conveyed it to the producer, the latter agreed with him. Now, this is not the first time that Raghu Kunche has made an actress wear the mantle of a singer. In the past, he did it with Lakshmi Manchu for Dongata. Kunche says that he didn't tamper with Trisha's voice, adding that for someone to sing, self-confidence is paramount.

Even before he learnt that Trisha had had undergone training in Carnatic music, Kunche could see that. Kunche got Trisha sing the number in both Telugu and Tamil. It was lyricist Bhaskarabhatla's idea to have the song on fear.

Raghu Kunche has a track record for getting such songs (whether promo or otherwise) right. For Ladies & Gentlemen, the song on social media's all-pervasiveness was rendered in a folkish way, featuring himself in burra katha-mode. For Dongataa, Lakshmi Manchu's Yendiroo song took a dig at male chauvinism in a light-veined but hard-hitting way. He was received a nomination for Best Music Director at IIFA UTSAVAM for this film.

With Nayaki, the 'Enduke? Pellenduke ramanamma?' sensation is back with a new 'Bumper Offer' to audiences.

Teaser Review: A Aa

Trivikram Srinivas' stamp is writ large over the teaser of A Aa.  The less than 45-second teaser introduces an urbane Nithiin in style, or rather say, simplicity.  More than Samantha, who is heard via Chinmayee Sripada's dubbing, it's Nithiin's presence which gets registered because of that one expression where he fills his mouth with air.
