Land Allotment in 1984: The legal dispute centers around the allocation of a two-acre plot of land in Survey No. 403/1 of Banjara Hills, back in 1984. The intended purpose of this land was the construction of a recording and re-recording theatre.
Change in Land Use: In 2003, the Telangana government granted permission for the construction of a mini-theatre, a film training institute, and a conference hall on this land. Allegedly, the family developed a commercial complex on the same property, contrary to its original designated purpose.
2012 PIL Filing: In response to this change in land use, a PIL was filed in 2012. Balakishan, a resident of Medak, filed this Public Interest Litigation, contending that the commercial usage of the 2-acre land (RK Cineplex) violated established rules and regulations.
Court Proceedings: The court had previously issued notices related to this petition, but since their receipt wasn't officially confirmed, new notices were re-issued. The court has postponed the hearing to January 18.
